Disneyland opened in July of 1955. Walt Disney had lots of ideas on what his park should be. Walt wanted to give people a park that they could go to and spend the day having fun as a family. Originally he had planned to purchase a small piece of land next to his studios in Burbank. One of the names for this project was "Disneylandia." Walt was never given permission to open his park next to the studio, so he went looking for land. Amongst the orange groves in Anaheim, Disneyland was built. Disnerdia is dedicated to Disney history and also the Disney attractions that never were. . . . . lost Disneylandia.
